São Paulo, December 2019 - According to a study by consultancy firm Euromonitor International, last year the luxury market generated BRL 26 billion in Brazil. The study went on to forecast a rise to BRL 29 billion by 2023. With an eye on the opportunities offered by the high-end furniture and decorative accessories sector, the Brazilian Contemporary Home Furnishings Association (ABIMAD, Portuguese acronym) has announced the launch of ABIMAD’29, considered the leading high-end furniture and decor fair in Latin America and the only one in the sector focused on business.

The event is scheduled for February 4 to 7, 2020, at São Paulo Expo, and marks the start of the Brazilian calendar of sector-related fairs, bringing together the biggest names in the furniture, accessories and decoration, to showcase the newest features and latest trends in the market to a select public of retailers and buyers from Brazil and abroad. Over 160 exhibitors will be present, spread over an area of 30,000 m2 and the fair is expected to draw over 20,000 visitors.

“We will be providing the ideal scenario for our exhibitors and visitors to do business, with high-end decor as the leading product. ABIMAD is a firmly-established trade fair, with a history spanning 16 years and, in 2020, the event will be even more focused on result excellence”, explained Michel Otte, president of ABIMAD. To do so, in 2020, the association will be continuing its partnership and cooperation agreement with ABIMÓVEL, for the organization business networking meetings part of the Buyer Project, promoted through the program Brazilian Furniture (ABIMÓVEL) and Apex-Brasil.

Additionally, attentive to the development and encouragement of exports among members of the ABIMAD Export project, the fair will be hosting its traditional international business networking meetings, which will include the participation of 54 export companies who will be sponsoring the presence of importers as VIP guests. “These two initiatives are vital tools to strengthen relations between suppliers and the world’s leading buyers”, stated Otte.

Connecting Design

The new ABIMAD promotional campaign carries the slogan “Connecting Design”. The subject is an analogy to the famous Rubik's Cube whereby, to attain the objective, you must match all the colors, calling for expertise, commitment, concentration, experience, intelligence, skill and logic. “By comparing the cube with high-end decor, we mean to say to the market that ABIMAD combines all the stages – from idealizing, creating, developing and configuring, to conception, preparation and specification of products – over a period of four days with the market’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of high-end decor”, reiterated Michel Otte.  The campaign features images of highlights from the previous edition.
